January 20, 1959 Karene to Zelda

Dear Sis:
We are all feeling fine. Hope you are feeling okey to. Did you get a nap yesterday?
So you are having a bit of snow? Wish we did. Friday morning a chinook came along and by Saturday afternoon our ten inches of pretty white snow was all gone, except on the lawn where the breeze doesn't it so directly. I've never seen snow go so fast here. Cause now we have mud almost as deep. Where the cattle tramp it is as deep or worse.
It was nice to feed on the snow they cleaned their feed up much better.
The cows came up on their milk on the Idaho hay. It is really pretty hay-the leaves are all there, so green & the blossoms are still purple. No dust or mold. One has to be careful not to feed too much or the cows bloat.
Saturday, Dad & I took Bob & Helen to Missoula to get groceries, before the Priesthood meeting at 6:30. Barry had gone so much-so he did the chores. the ladies sat around a talked until 9. Then went to the husband& wife meeting.
I really enjoyed Elder Dyer. Yesterday, Barry went down with David & Lyle to the morning meeting. Then we went to the afternoon meeting-Dad called Tom to say we'd be along and pick them up and they were ready. I enjoyed the Saturday nite meeting more. We went to Sacrament meeting last nite. It froze just a little last nite. Wish it would snow. Hope all is well with you.

Dear Zelda,
A'nother post card. And in a hurry. I didn't get up this morning. I went to Mutual with Cheryl Ann last nite. Sis Anderson came up to give a very nice talk to the girls and Mothers-chastity-virtue-&so on. Cheryl Ann didn't understand it all. Sis Anderson said to tell you hello for her.
We'll try to get a letter written.
Love Mom
