Feb 5, 1959 to Zelda from Karene

Good Morning;
How are you this crisp winter morning. Yes, we have a winter wonderland again. It snowed most all day yesterday-at times it was heavy-coming straight down and big flakes, it was beautiful. Dad hauled hay a good share of the day. And I don't even help him. I studied Sunday School lesson until 1:30, then did my work and made bread. It seems I don't study when I'm thinking about it. I loose some of the things that come to mind. In fact, I studied Tuesday morning and practically all day Monday. I have only taught an adult class once before-theology in Relief Society, and it really makes me dig! I don't know much about genealogy anyway. Dad and the Bishop have cautioned me not to worry so much about it. I'm learning, but I want the others to enjoy learning to. And I've heard so many remarks that"I've attended genealogy classes before but haven't gotten a thing out of it.' Any ideas?
This will be the review of lessons so far briefly-on the board I've hung two black pieces of cloth (curtains) one on the right and one on the left. The peoples of the world do not know what happened before birth. And as man struggles thru life it seems almost meaningless (if they think) to some. And they travel over a rough road wandering and not knowing what happens after death. To we as Latter Day Saints, revelation has made us realize and know , so it lifts the yellow curtain and we know that our earth life is a time of proving ourselves. We know that in our pre-earth life-(curtain lifted) we were intelligences and God gathered and organized the intelligences and we became spirit children of God. We were all present at the Grand Council and agreed to the earth-plan and sanctioned the appointment of our Elder Brother as the Savior of the world. Satan rebelled & a third part of the organized spirits, who were chosen to come to this earth, came with him; punished by not having a mortal body. So, we are here to 'prove ourselves. Then when we leave this earth life we are a spirit and will be resurrected being. And we want to reach the goal of eternal life-knowing God and becoming like him.
I learned from Sis Anderson that Avil is enjoying the class and also from Ray! I hope I can do justice to everyone.
Hey-I went to see Naida. Heard no secrets. Went to see Delma to.
Getting some genealogical sheets to every ward member for a ward family book. It is most interesting.
Looks like Sunday School is about all I'll get in this morning. Time to go
Love you Mom
